NBA 2K22 offers players plenty of customization, but it's not total freedom, and certain contact dunk animations have stat and height requirements.
NBA 2k22 Wreak Havoc
Just like previous NBA games, Nba 2k22 Mt offers players plenty of options for customization. Whether it's the MyTeam mode, where players can build a team with players from across the league, or the MyCareer Mode, where players take a custom character through NBA 2K22's story, no two players' experiences will be the same.
The character customization goes beyond simple stat differences. NBA 2K22 players can change their character's build, down to the specific weight and armspan, and it changes how their player performs and feels.
NBA 2K22: How To Make The Best Dunker Build
But it's not a system with complete freedom. NBA 2K22 is a game that's a stickler for details. Certain moves and animations will not be available if the character doesn't fit the right physical requirements, with one of the most important categories being contact dunks.

NBA 2K22's Contact Dunk Restrictions
Dunks are some of the most visually exciting parts of basketball, with a gravity defying buildup and an explosive climax. It makes sense that NBA 2K22 treats its dunking animations with the same level of enthusiasm.
But not every player is able to do every dunk. If someone were to place one of Shaquille O Neil's hoop bending dunks on a player with a featherweight build, it wouldn't look right at all. And if a character who otherwise has bad jump height performs an incredible leap, that would break immersion.
For both these reasons and game balance, the developers at 2K Games split the contact dunks into different categories, and placed access to each category under certain restrictions. These restrictions are listed below, in alphabetical order:
Big Man Contact Dunks and Alley-Oops require 85+ Standing Dunk, 75+ Driving Dunk, 60+ Vertical, and a player height of at least 6'10".
Elite Contact Alley-Oops require 92+ in Driving Dunk and 80+ in Vertical.
Elite Contact Dunks require 92+ in Driving Dunk and 80+ in Vertical.
Elite Standing Contact Dunks require 90+ in Driving Dunk, 75+ in Vertical, and a character height of at least 6'10".
Pro Contact Alley-Oops require 84+ Driving Dunk and 70+ Vertical.
Pro Contact Dunks require 84+ Driving Dunk and 70+ Vertical.
Pro Standing Contact Dunks require 80+ Standing Dunk, 65+ Vertical, and a player height of at least 6'10".
Small Contact Dunks and Alley-Oops require 86+ Driving Dunk, 85+ Vertical, and a player height under 6'5".
Players shouldn't be too concerned if they can't do their favorite dunks. Unlike commercials would make them believe, basketball is not all about dunking. NBA 2K22 gives plenty of room for players with good jump shots as well.
