Amazon Game's Franchise Director Soomin Park touches on the possibility of the developer Smilegate to bring Lost Ark to consoles during an interview.

Lost Ark was the hot new MMORPG of 2022, which came out following its launch in the United States in February. It hasn't completely avoided criticism for its flaws and balance issues, excessively sexualized characters, gender locked classes, and the pay-to-win ending game advancement. It is, however, a well-liked contender to take on the MMO power gap created by World of Warcraft left behind.

The Korean MMO enjoying huge popularity on PC Some might be wondering whether console-based games are on the cards for Lost Ark's near future. In actual fact, the topic was brought up in the interview of Amazon Game's Franchise Director Soomin Park. While his response was not certain, it seems that console-based versions could be in the works.

Game journalist Sherif Saed has recently been interviewed by Park on a range of topics including licensing rights for publishing, differences among Lost Ark Gold and Diablo 3 and the reason Lost Ark took so long to reach the west. In this context, in those Diablo 3 comparisons that the issue of console ports was brought up and Saed noting the game's success across different platforms. However, Park wasn't able to provide a clear"yes" or "no" answer on whether Lost Ark might arrive on consoles in the near future. "If Lost Ark on consoles is something that people really desire," he told Saed, "then I think it's something that both sides would be interested in!"

When he says "both the parties" Park is presumably is referring the two parties, Amazon and Smilegate as they own the publishing rights to the game. Park clarified the relationship between the two companies by explaining why Lost Ark isn't available in the Middle East or parts of Europe. Contrary to other Amazon Games games, such as New World, the company is not the owner of Lost Ark. Instead, it's in partnership by Korean publishing company Smilegate RPG, who own the intellectual rights to the property. Park said that the contract does not grant Amazon the right to distribute Lost Ark globally, only within certain regions in Europe, Oceania, and the Americas. It is, however, difficult to determine when or if Lost Ark might arrive in new territories.

Another pertinent question is the reason it took such a long time to wait for buy Lost Ark Gold to arrive in the West. In the end, the game's Korean release came in the year 2019but it came out internationally only in the year 2019. Park was unable to provide an answer to the question of the reason Amazon did not approach Smilegate sooner , but did note that Amazon moved in the direction it did due to the popularity of Lost Ark within the East.

He also explains that entertainment is becoming more international as Korean films, music, and TV shows beginning to be successful across the West. According to Park there is no doubt to expect that Korean video games will be the same. Amazon appears to be the one that was an early American company to make use of Korea's gaming capabilities.
